DAY 2: UDINE – SAN DANIELE DEL FRIULI – CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI
After
breakfast departure to Udine, we will visit the city and the House Wine
(in Italian: Casa del Vino), showcases the finest of Friuli Venezia
Giulia’s wines. Udine, capital of Friuli, is an elegant city with interesting museums and a well
conserved historic centre.
After the city tour we will proceed to San
Daniele del Friuli, a town with a rich heritage of art, culture and
craft traditions, famous for its air – cured ham (in Italian:
Prosciutto Crudo).
City tour and free lunch. Continue to visit a guided
tour of one of the many ham factories and taste the delicious Prosciutto Crudo DOP. Afterwards your
coach will take to Cividale del Friuli, the Forum Iulii founded by
Giulio Cesare around 50 B.C.
Visit a local winery followed by the 2°
guided tasting of sweet wines from Friuli.
Afterwards visit a local
pastry makers, (specialized in manufacturing Gubana and other bakery
products typical of the region: strudel, strucchi and focacce).
At the
end, transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight.
