WEEK - END TO DISCOVER THE FRIULI’S WINES

DAY 1: AQUILEIA

Depart from Ronchi Airport. With our coach and guide to Aquileia, Roman colony founded in 180 / 181 B.C., the capital of X Augustan region and metropolis of the Christian Church. Visit the Roman Forum, the remains of the ancient Roman port, the Basilica. Afterwards visit a local winery followed by the 1° guided tasting of some native Friulian wines. At the end, transfer to our hotel Dinned and overnight.

DAY 2: GORIZIA – SAN FLORIANO DEL COLLIO – CAPRIVA DEL FRIULI

After breakfast departure to Gorizia and visit the city, a town with a rich heritage of art and culture, situated on the border with Slovenia and has always been a crossroad of Europe’s main cultures: the Latin, Germanic and Slav. Afterwards we will proceed to San Floriano del Collio, a major wine production centre and home of the ancient residence of the noble Conti Formentini family. Lunch at the Castle restaurant with a local dishes. Continue to Capriva del Friuli, we will have the opportunity to visit the Spessa Castle wine cellar and taste some of the wines produced in the area. At the end, transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: UDINE

After breakfast departure to Udine capital of Friuli, we will visit the Castle of Udine and the beauty of the historic centre. On a city tour we will get to know several sights Loggia del Lionello, Duomo, Piazza della Libertà, the Baptistery frescoed by Tiepolo and the House Wines (in Italian: Casa del Vino), showcases the finest of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s wines. At the end of the visit we will proceed to Ronchi Airport. Lunch in the airport restaurant. Flight departure.
