WEEK - END IN FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA (Italy)

The Vineyard of the World (Wine of Peace) and Trieste

DAY 1: GRADISCA D’ISONZO – FARRA D’ISONZO

Depart from Ronchi Airport. With our coach and guide to Gradisca d’Isonzo, where we will visit a local winery followed by the 1° guided tasting of some native Friulian wines in combination with snack of typical products. Afterwards proceed to Farra d’Isonzo and visit the museum of rural culture. At the end, transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: BRAZZANO – CORMONS – CAPRIVA – GRADO

After breakfast departure to Brazzano, was once the border between Italy and Austria. Visit the parish church, the sixteenth century Church of San Giorgio, with its wooden altar, dominating the village from its scenic hilltop location. Afterwards we will proceed to Cormons, characteristic little town at the foot of Monte Quarin in Friuli Venezia Giulia and renowned for its wines and fruit. Visit a local winery, around which is planted the Vineyard of the World, with over four hundred varieties of vine from the five continents. The fruit is harvested together to produce the Wine of Peace, which in sent every year to heads of taste all over the world as an invitation to peace and brotherhood. Lunch in a restaurant. Continue to Capriva, is noted for its lovely countryside and distinguished wineries. Visit a local winery followed by the 2° guided tasting of some native Friulian wines. At the end we will proceed to Grado visit a charming historic centre whose cobble calli and campielli make it a miniature Venice set in its own unspoiled lagoon. At the end, transfer to our hotel. Dinner with a local dishes. Overnight stay.

DAY 3: TRIESTE

After breakfast departure to Trieste and visit the city. Today, the city conserves its central European atmosphere. The many neoclassical building in the lovely city centre, which looks onto the sea from Piazza Unità d’Italia, bear witness to Trieste’s history. Afterwards proceed to a typical place called “osmizze” on the nearby Carso plateau and tasting local food and wine. At the end we will proceed to Ronchi Airport on taim for your flight departure.
